Species rhododendrons

I attended an event recently where I won a couple of raffle prizes - two species rhodies. My garden is already crowded and both will become pretty large shrubs, so I need to select only one (there are some avid fans waiting in the wings for the leftovers!). The two species are R. aberconwayi and R. auriculatum. I am personally leaning very heavily towards the auriculatum for its very impressive foliar effect and the fact that it blooms in mid to late summer and is quite fragrant.

Does anyone have any experience with either and words of advice as to which one absolutely must make its home in my garden?
