Blooming Encores for nearly 4 weeks now in SE GA

My Encores have been blooming in southeast Georgia for nearly 4 weeks now. Wonderful to see those blooms.

Who else has Encores or others blooming? If not Encores, what type?

I have some E. Amethyst that first bloomed about four weeks ago and now again.

Must have been quite a performance!

I was glad to see them rebloom so quickly (the weather had something to do with that) but, as usual, Encore's do not rebloom as heavily as they do in Spring. The 1st flush probably had about 1-2 dozen flowers while the 2nd one has had slightly more.

Mine didn't bloom profusely either in the spring or fall. It is likely for a couple of reasons.

(1) They were planted March, 2008.
(2) They are in HEAVY SHADE.

BUT, it was a pleasure to see them bloom nonetheless.

These were our first plantings after buying the farm.

I suspect I will plant more where they will receive more sun.

Take a look at the other WILD bloomers at the farm this weekend.

Update on the blooming Encores. A few are REALLY blooming now. I will try to get some pictures after Church to post. Pretty amazing to me. The different varieties of Encores have given us a fall bloom for approximately 9 weeks now with night temperatures in the low to mid 40s day highs in low 70s last week.

We also had a few of the $2.50 WalMart azaleas we planted spring 2009 give a show for a couple of weeks I'm not sure of the variety of those.

Same here. The weather patterns in the area really have encouraged the Encores. Might as well enjoy it. The Spring Blooms will not be as showy with all these flowers blooming now.
