Please help, workers cut down azaleas

I had 5 flourishing and well established azaleas at a house I just bought. Well on the bad side they were out of control. So prior to buying I asked the sellers to to get the bushes and trees under control. Well they did in a sense, BY CUTTING THE AZALEAS TO THE STUMPS :(. These trees were easily 6ft tall reduced to stumps. Well 4 of them are now sprouting like branched fromt he trunks so I am assuming they will be grwoing back. But one has yet to do anything. I fear it to be dead. Is there anything I can do to get this beautiful tree to grow back. I am in no way an expert I just really love trees and plants. And overall have a pretty good green thumb (what ever I plant grows). SO I am looking for any advice on how to clear this up and nurse this tree back to health if possible.

PLease help any advice is greatly appreciated.
