Late this summer I transplanted a Rhody that wasn't thriving and I suspect it was a bad location. When I did I noticed the bark at the base of the plant was peeling and suspect mulch was to high on plant.Since the move it seems to have taken root and folidge is good will the bark heal /regrow?

Early frosts can cause this problem; however, peeling bark can be normal on some rhododendrons. Do you know the name of this variety?
