Small purple?

Hi. I have a Rhodo Calsap planted on the side of my garage under a window. I am planting a Rhodo Anahe Kruschke on either side of it. How much space should I leave between these rhodos? Also, I have room for another smallish Rhodo or Azalea on eiher side of the Anahs. Can anyone recommend a purplish plant that would look good? It's southwest facing but gets some filtered shade from maple trees nearby. There are also Spirea Tor planted in this bed (which are small low shrubs with white flowers blooming in May). I was hoping to have everything in this bed blooming around the same time. I am not picky about color but I have been gravitating towards white, purple, violets, burgundy, maroons and lavenders in my new gardens. Thanks for any help. I am in my 1st home and new to gardening. I live in CT if that helps.

RE: Small purple?

Calsap and Anah Krushke both have a listed 10 year height of 5 feet. Spread would be about equal, so 6 foot spacing would work well, but look a little bare in the early years.

Purple Gem and Ramapo are two good low growing small-leaved light purples. Very good large leafed dark puples include Edith Bosley, Jonathan Shaw and Polarnacht. All of these are Z5b hardy.
