Can these Azaleas be saved?

| Can these bushes be saved? I think they had lacebugs on them in the summer. The leaves looked whiteish all over but I never saw the bugs (I noticed they were sick too late). Now, the bushes look red and sickly. There are only leaves on the top side.. notice there are no leaves on most of the bush-- just branches. Plus, if you look closely at the leaves, they have spots. What's going on here? Can they be saved?

| Red is good, that is the fall foliage. Brown is bad, that is dead. I can't tell if they are evergreen or deciduous azaleas. If they are evergreen, that is not good. If they are deciduous azaleas, they look fairly normal. To see lace bugs, look at the back of the leaves. There will be a lot of black excrement they leave and lots of white patches in the leaf. Lace bug thrives on some varieties of azaleas in full sun. It is seldom a problem in more shade. In shadier location, natural predators like spiders can control them. These spiders don't handle full sun very well. |
