| This is a shameless plug for a website where all commissions benefit the American Rhododendron Society Research Foundation and the Rhododendron Species Foundation. It is Henning's Rhododendron & Azalea Book Store at http://rhodyman.net/rhodybooks.html
Sales were getting slow, so I added sections on Garden Books and Items For Gardeners. The new garden books sections include: Maples, Conifers, Perennials, Shrubs, and General Gardening. The new items for gardeners sections include: Pruners, Saws, Shovels, Forks, Trowels, Weeders, Cultivators, Deer Protection, Fertilizers and Sprays, Protection and Safety, Goodies for the Gardener, and Gifts for the Gardener. Actually, once you are in the Book Store, 5% to 15% of any Amazon.com purchase goes to benefit the ARS Research Foundation or the Species Foundation. Thank you, Steve Henning |

| Steve, I would very much like to add a few really good books about Rhodos to my collection. In your opinion, would you list the the best 5 books you would recommend. Thanks for the book list! |

| The answer will be different for every gardener. For me, I want books which list just about every variety and species. My list includes: 1) Rhododendrons and Azaleas: A Colour Guide by Kenneth Cox, 2005 [The most varieties listed] 2) Azaleas by Fred C. Galle 1988 [The bible on azaleas] 3) Encyclopedia of Rhododendron Species by Peter A. Cox, Kenneth N.E. Cox (2001) [most complete book on species] 4) Greer's Guidebook to Available Rhododendrons by Harold E. Greer 1996 [great reference for American gardeners] 5) Rhododendrons and Azaleas by Bowers 1960 [an old but well written book] |
