Rooting Azalea's this way??

Earlier this year I had some volunteer tomatoes that came up next to one of my azalea bushes, I left one to see if it would bear, it did, so this fall while cleaning up the vines from the tomatoe plant I accidentlly broke off two small twigs from the azalea bush, just to see what they would do I stuck them in the ground beside the mother plant, today I was cleaning up leaves out side and remembered the twigs. The leaves are just as green as the mother plant and the stem still looks healthy, are there any chance at all that those two twigs will root and survive?
