APS Budget Plan... Grr!

I'm a little ticked... At the end of summer '04, after a few $300.+ electric bills, I signed up for their budget plan. My payment was suppose to be $92.00/month. That was fine. The following summer it rose to $114.00. Now it's up to $138.00. Normally, during the non summer months, beginning in Oct. thru May, I use between $50-$60 worth of electricity. By choice I walk around in the dark...lol,use no heat, again by choice, try to conserve wherever I can but I still get increases. Is there any way to win this game? Granted $138.00 isn't sky high but why try? I'm talking about a 2 member household using those energy sapping dishwashers and clothes dryers once a week and an evap cooler during part of the summer. I can't imagine what the bill would be if there were 3 or 4 energy using kids running around..lol...or if I was older and on a fixed income. Oh, well. Just mad 'cause I got an increase. milos |

| Oh, milos, you're in for even bigger bills if APS gets its way with the Corporation Commission. They have two requests for rate hikes pending. SRP customers won't be far behind with energy costs rising, rising, rising. Last week the gas station I frequent charged $2.09 for regular; yesterday it was $2.17. Right now we have an old split system that uses natural gas for heat. We're thinking about changing it out to a heat pump because natural gas is getting more and more expensive. I just hope summer is kind enough that I can use the evap as long as possible. |

| Boy, am I glad I don't have APS!!! I am on the same type of plan with SRP. Was $125/month, then went to $131. However, I now have a large credit built up, so they said they will probably drop it again come spring. BUT- first they sent me a bill in Dec that was for $281!!! About fell out of my chair. I called and they said that the incorrect info had printed in the amount due, that was the total amount, I would pay the $131 and be behind $150. Well, I looked up each bill and came to a different conclusion. Called them back, walked through each month and got it adjusted. NEVER trust what you are told unless you thoroughly check it out first. Of course, at that time, someone took off my preselected pay date, so I actually got 2 bills in Dec and then another one the beginning of January. Took quite a bit of talking for them to take another look, figure out it was not correct and fix it again. I tell ya, double check everything!!! Susie eternally suspicious (hey- I scan my own groceries to make sure the right price comes up, that is a notorious area for incorrect pricing!) |
