Variety? Um.... these are some that Larry gave me. Want some? I love 'em, they have a larger bloom on top and then a half dozen smaller blooms down the stalk come out just as top nods off...

I love sunflowers too--they're great. I always "rub" off some of the faded true flowers (as the seeds are maturing) and make "faces" in the head where I've rubbed off the faded yellow true flowers and exposed the ends of the ripening seeds. Silly, but it makes me feel good.

This is a great pic of a beautiful bloom. My lone variegated sunflower has some ripe seeds which I plan on planting to see if I can get more.

Teriann, let me suggest that you put in a few seeds right now - it's a little late, but I'd bet you could squeeze in some good ones before it gets too cold...

Welcome to the blast furnace!

Well this is one of the plants I REALLY miss being able to grow. Every time I've tried, the rabbits annihilate them before they are a foot tall. And I'm sick of chicken wire. So I guess it's silk sunflowers for me..... sigh.
