I don't know what the name of this cacti/succulent is, but it went from a little 2" pot to this monster over the past 2 years.

It's in the opuntia family, BUT I can't find an actual name for it, I have one too. It's from http://www.cactuscollection.com/store/ which supplies Walmart, Home Depot and Lowes with their cactus and succulents. Let me know if you find the name!

hi susie,

i believe you have a tree oputnia, Brasilopuntia brasiliensis. i think it's fine for now in the basket, but is probably better suited in a floor pot because it can grow into quite a tree! i've seen it reach a 20' ceiling.

It looks REALLY similar to Brasilopuntia brasiliensis, but it's not quite it. I have both, and when it's young the Brasilopuntia brasiliensis really does look like this unknown opuntia that we have. The unknown one is a miniature, has thinner leaves (pads), more heat and cold tolerant and is spinier(has more spines).

I found it I found it. It's Opuntia Argentiniana. Not a whole lot of info out there on it tho. I've needed that name for awhile now, just needed a little nudge.

Thanks!

Kevin
