I managed to catch a Carulea Passion Vine flower opening today and I wanted to share it. Enjoy!

OMG- that is absolutely wonderful! How long did it take to capture that sequence?

Does the flower have a scent?

Hi Birdlady,

It took about half an hour to get the whole sequence. Pictures three through seven (counting left to right across) took less than five minutes. It was amazing to watch it literally spring open.

The flowers are lightly candy scented, nowhere near as strong as "Incense". I have to put my nose up to the carulea flower to smell the scent.

This flower, and the other that bloomed today, has stayed open twice as long as normal. I'm trying to keep an eye on them tonight to watch the closing process.

I'm glad you enjoyed the photos.

Robert

Can I copy this to the discussion page? (I think I can do it).

Sure, I put it at the end of an old DesertDreamer passiflora post, but I don't know if anyone saw it.
