They are easy to grow from seed. I started some last year and had a ton I just divided a couple weeks back. They grow fast and bloom first year. They do have them at A&P in EV, don't know about out West.

Don't get bulbs. You won't know if they have the canna virus or not.

I've gotten rhizomes/bulbs before and more than half of them had the virus. I had to toss them. Now I just get mine online from reputable nursery that guarantees that they don't have the virus.

I agree with Raimiekin - this is one you need to be careful with - the virus is out of control and makes for some pretty awful plants that decline rapidly, and it will spread.

You can get seeds from Karchesky Cannas, as well as beautiful plants. I highly recommend them. The seeds will not transmit the virus.
