maybe they are just dropping old leaves in order to grow new. I have many of that plant and they are almost indestructible. We cut them off at the ground every couple
of years and they come right back up, as pretty as ever.

Someone else said that the 4-night frost we had last winter may have made them drop the old leaves. I have noticed some others doing the same thing in other yards and many other that do not seem to be affected. Thanks for your input.

At this time of year, I would expect some leaf drop. I would really suggest cutting an Orange Jubilee back severely now,,perhaps to 12". I am the breeder of all of the new Tecoma hybrids currently on the market so if anyone has questions regarding Tecomas, I can probably help.

What sort of advantage is there to cutting an orange jubilee down if there isn't any frost damage?

Well, it is a very large growing shrub,,,and Tecomas bloom on new wood, so getting it down to a reasonable size would put flowers down where we are not 8' in the air. Orange Jubilee is basically a bit of a runt,,,,there are a lot better selections available.

George Hull - not sure how to contact you directly, but am wondering if you can tell me what's wrong with my orange jubilee. The whole plant is wilting. Started about a week ago. Has thrived for 6 years. In our hot Phoenix summer, it gets watered every 3 days, 3X a day for 90 minutes. The one nearby is thriving. I've been told it's getting too much water and has root rot. Your thoughts? Can this plant be saved?
