RE: Onions- I'm ready to plant!

That's some nice looking transplants. I love growing onions and not having to buy them for 4 or 5 months.

I want to eat your onions, hah! :)

Awesome! Thanks for the fun pics and the timely post! Did you harvest them all at once and then have onions through November? Or did you have them in the ground until November? Either way, sounds like a great harvest!

I love onions and use a ton. I really should get some planted out too. Hmmm......

Thanks, always love your posts. Happy gardening all!

RE: Onions- I'm ready to plant!

Grant---I harvested the red first last year(May/June) then after they were dry (about two weeks or so) I harvested the walla wallas. Then I put them in large plastic containers and in the bottom of the ref. ( yeah its crowed) Had onions tell Nov. We usually freeze here buy Halloween and don't think onions would like that, so I got to pull them.

Great information, Connie, thanks! I may plant some in my little veggie bed too. I really am trying to grow veggies that I REALLY use and eat, and onions are definitely one of those things. Thank for sharing your garden, and amazing skills in the kitchen too. Keep the posts coming! Happy gardening!
