Do I need to dry the wood for raised bed?

So I am planning to build some raised beds using 5/8" x 5 1/2 " x 6 ft cedar fence slats. I got these from HD fairly cheap and they are nice and straight. Some of them, however, were pretty moist. Do I need to dry them out before building the beds? I don't want warping or splitting to happen later on. What do you all think. Thanks for any advice.

I don't know but try it. I thought HD buys it pretty much cured already. Things dry in no time here in our dry air anyways.

I used them without drying them. the only one that warped was the leftover one.

the stakes held the others straight.

No need to dry

Note we also used re-bar to keep the sides from bulging.
