| Ok so I really want a mesquite tree for my front yard
but i feel silly paying big bucks to buy one from a nursery when they grow like weeds out in the desert so i was thinking about just going out and digging one up but i was worried that i might be doing something illegal and if it is legal what else can i dig up? |
Follow-Up Postings:
|
| It is illegal to remove native plants from the desert. |

| RSI Growers has some mesquites in 5 gallon containers for $5.00 |
|
| Elgin Nursery, in the West Valley, also sells native mesquites. But I do not know their sizes or prices. |

| It is easy to start from seed and seeds planted directly in the ground grow faster than in pots and develop a much better tap root than in pots. So, get a few seeds from a tree in a friends yard somewhere and plant them. You will have a tree size plant in 2 years. good luck |
