What are these white flowers? They just appeared. They're in a few other places, too, but those are on single stalks.

Star of Bethlehem?

It looks like one of the bulbs that we can grow here.

Candytuft?

They are paper whites and they smell heavenly. Will multiply fast if you let them dry out before cutting back

Hate to disagree, but I don't think they're paperwhites. The foliage is completely different. Now if the poster will come back and tell us if they have a fragrance, I may agree. But it's doubtful.

I think it may be Allium neapolitanum

Hmmmm.... Based on the foliage, that's a good guess. Now if only GreenDream would come back with some more info! Fragrance? Better photo?

I'm here! I'm here!

They do not smell heavely -- when cut, they smell like onion, which is why, based on picture-matching, I think Susan and Lazy Gardens are right: they are Allium Neapolitanum, aka Star of Bethlehem.

I can't post a better pic; they are no more, because they were growing right where a berm needed to go.

Yep if they smell like onion allium it is.

Oh, Oh! These remind me of my childhood home in central Phoenix. My mother planted them under the shade of a big ash tree (we had flood irrigation) and when stepped on or mowed they smelled like onions. Thanks susanc for identifying them.
