I put my potted jade on a covered east facing patio in mid/late April and bring in indoors mid October. It loves it. Jade can take direct easterly sun for up to 6 hours with out any negative affects. They don't like temps below 40 degrees for long periods of time or sudden drops to that temp.

In Arizona, they sunburn easily ... a few hours of morning sun, or dappled shade is about all they can stand.

ok..so if I plant a couple in the ground in shade near a wall they should alright?
