A guess is an Eucalyptus. They are fast growing and planted for shade. A generally weak, low value tree, native to Australia I think. Is the below link what the leaves look like? Just a guess and IMHO.

This could be Willow Acacia (Acacia salicina). They're not really a willow but have graceful branches. This tree is native to Australia and does well in our climate and soils. It will grow to about 30 feet tall and 15 feet wide and blooms in the spirng with small cream, puffball shaped flowers.

I'm just wondering though... in the description I read about Willow Acacia, it says the leaves are gray-green. The leaves on this tree are a nice fresh green.

Is the lower trunk pretty white? I was thinking Eucalyptus papuana, aka Ghost Gum (although there are at least two trees that go by that name).

I've seen these trees planted on the highways - IOWs, tough as nails.

It might also be Australian Willow (I know, the common names can be confusing). This ones botanical name is Geijera parviflora and blooms with small, white, 5 petal flowers instead of the puffballs that the acacias have.
