I purchased a big one and failed. The hot dry heat killed it. It likes hot humid climates. If I were to try again I would plant in a nice fertile loam and keep it moist and under 50 percent shade cloth during the summer. You will have to protect it during the winter as they are very cold sensitive.

The place I purchased from is no linger in business. The first place I would look would be a large Asian Market like Lee Lee's. They sell it there so I'm pretty sure they could get plants if you asked.

Pandanus amaryllifolius is a Tropical plant. They are a bit more sensitive than tomato plants. My plant was in afternoon shade. Remember these are not semi-tropical they are tropical. They like high heat and high humidity. If the air is to cold they die or to dry they die.

It can be grown indoors. Outdoors will take some special care unless you have a farm where the evaporation from the fields increases the relative humidity to create a proper micro climate.

There are some plants for sale on eBay right now. Don't bother buying from any source outside the USA. I tried twice and customs got it both times.
