Down here in Tucson, they grow great. And the cooler nights are good for color. Here is a picture of my 3 year old (which survived the freeze of last year).

How is the production on your 3 year old?

I had a 'Tarocco' blood orange in my last Scottsdale garden and it did GREAT. It took a couple of years after I planted it for it to bear (typical citrus of course) but the fruit was really great.

I've planted lots of other citrus in my current Scottsdale garden, and am toying with the idea of another blood orange even though I'm really out of room, LOL. Anyway, my 'Tarocco' was a good performer.

Let us know if you get one, which variety, from where, and how it does for you. I love them. Great, now I have a craving!

Thanks pgde, I got my orange! It was in a 15 gallon container. Hubby & I planted it a couple of weeks ago. Here's a picture of it:
