I ordered a thornless apache blackberry, planted it, got 1 small sprout og green, it died off, and now nothing for a few weeks. I just dug it out and the soil was so wet, i thought i wasnt watering it enough, turns out I was wrong. I cut off some edges of the bigger roots and the very middle is tan and then there are white and a faint green ring inside the root. Can it be saved? If so whats the best way to do so.. same thing for my rasberries. I also trimmed the tops to see if they were alive( I dont know why because I havent a clue how to tell) but its mostly brown. any help is appreciated.
