What is this mystery ground cover/weed?

Does anyone know what this is? I've been treating it like a week (pulling it out) but maybe it might be a nice ground cover around my garden beds. It pops up everywhere; easy to grow, easy to remove (but of course it comes back.) Is it an icky weed that will harm my plants and invade my lawn, or something cute the former owners planted long ago?

Interesting tidbit: I looked up spurge online and found this article, which talks about its dangers and how to kill it, but also says that its milky sap is being studied as a cure for skin cancer! http://www.anneofgreengardens.com/2011/07/purge-that-spurge/

I have been pulling this crap out of my garden beds and it seems to be multiplying. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what I can put on it to kill it? It is tucked pretty close to a lot of other plants, so that's why I have been pulling it.

Rather than poisoning the ground and other plants, just pull it out when you water and the ground is soft. Mine eventually gave up and i don't see it any more. Amazing but true.

It self-seeds prolifically, is spread by birds, sets seeds very early, and is a hot-weather weed. Just keep pulling as soon as you see it.

And watch out for the ants. They LOVE to hang out under this plant.
