Looks like it might be apids they have a tendency to attack the grape leaves when they are just starting to open causing distortion. Have you seen any wasps they like apids on grapes too. Try spraying with a little dish soap every 6/7 days and see if that doesn't help. 1 tbl per gal of water of the cheap stuff, don't use Dawn. My grapes are just starting to leaf. Hope this helps

I don't have aphids, I sure do hate those things. But had a small(amazing right?) white fly problem a few weeks back and those seem to have gone away since I added worm castings to the soil. Also, the white flies were only on the side closest to the "trunk" of the grape vine. Where this is happening is all the way towards the end of the main vine. The main vine it self is about 15' long.

I was thinking it was something with soil or maybe something else since this new growth.

did you ever find out what the problem was? I have some younger grapes. they just started growing about two-three weeks ago and the leaves looked fine when they sprouted but now that they are getting older they are starting to curl upward, exactly like your pictures!
