I use Google's Picasa for my pictures. It'll pretty much create the links for you to cut and paste (it's on the right side of the page). I've seen other picture hosting sites but Picasa works for my needs.

So the message box allows html? just copy/paste the html for the pictures and off we go?

yes, you can paste the html link in the message portion. Photobucket is another option.

If your picture doesn't show when you preview the message than something is wrong.
