Irrigated Yard and Weeds

Foxnaz

We recently moved into a house that has a large backyard that is watered via canal water thru flood irrigation. We planted bermuda grass six weeks ago. It appears to me that 60% of our yard is now grass with the other 40% being weeds. Someone mentioned that with canal water you are going to get every weed seed in that canal into your yard.

Is there anything I can do to remove the current weeds? Is there something I can do next season to prevent them?
