Small Leaves on Hibiscus

Hi, everyone... I'm having a strange problem with my hibiscus plants. Most have been in the ground for 2-3 years and have been growing beautifully up until this year. Several of these plants seem to be pushing out very small leaves. They're still blooming like crazy, but the leaves are very small and underdeveloped.

I feed a 19-6-12 time release fertilizer every other month or so.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem? Thanks for any help...

i read once on this forum to add 1 cup white vinager to 1 gallon of water and i tried it and sure enough, it's like my hibiscus had a friggin red bull! hibiscus is an acid loving plant and we have very alkaline soil. this is a quick fix.

Too much fertilizer? Not enough water, or erratic water?

Add soil sulfur for long-lasting pH reduction. It also frees up soil iron.

My mom grew huge hibiscus with nothing but mulch, water, and soil sulfur.

I did the vinigar trick and my hybiscus is dieing and fast!!! what do I do?
