Saving Stressed Tomatoes

I thought this article from MEN was too good not to share, especially right now when most tomato plants are trying hard to give up the ghost. Well, mine are. Is anyone vermicomposting?

Here is a link that might be useful: Saving stressed tomatoes

Hi Tomatofreak..I use compost tea and that super thrive..have them shaded, but they are still just too hot..still getting some fruits..We have had a few overcast days and a bit cooler with same, they loved that..

RE: Saving Stressed Tomatoes

I have three or four that may - I say *may* - make it through till fall. I'll give 'em a drink of Super Thrive and see if it helps. I've already lost several, two of which never even bloomed.

RE: Saving Stressed Tomatoes

It's worth the try. Mine are also growing in almost pure compost, don't know if that's what's helping either, but we are some hotter down here and still getting some fruits. The Peppers are doing best, still picking those off and cooking or freezing them. I do like the Thrive and use it on everything. Still have nice looking petunias even (on the patio of course). I thrive weekly.
