A bunch of Javelina decided to have a nap in the shade of my house.

Awwww.... Poor guys are probably as tired from the heat as we are. Whatever you do, don't feed them!

They lunched on my quail block which I foolishly forgot to bring in at night.

My home is central to an extended Javalina family, as well as marauding bachelor groups. In the end, it is they who determine what I can and cannot plant in my front yard. Little buggers have eaten/destroyed a lot of my plants, they are especially fond of small cacti. Thankfully, they leave my Agaves alone.

Awesome pic! Thanks for taking the time/effort to post it!

My front garden gets javelina raids now and then too, so I mostly grow plants they avoid: bitter tasting/soapy aloes, Euphorbias, and a few other plants. Nothing precious/rare goes out front for sure! Thanks for the pic, they really are so ugly they're cute. Happy gardening!

Wow, what a great photo! Thanks.

I never see javelinas in my neighborhood (only bunnies and an occasional coyote.) Never mind about the messy, noisy birds, though. I'm so sick of their poop on my car.
