are the figs that dried on my tree still good to eat --I was away and missed the best part of my fig tree harvest

If the insects/birds/wildlife haven't taken a bite, sure. This is, after all, just another form of sun drying....Just bag them and put in the freezer for at least 4 days to kill any bad things.
