Hibiscus Tree

I bought one on an impulse and put in one of my raised beds alongside some HT roses. Is this going to do okay in the summer? I'm worried about the trunk and how it will handle the heat. If it is at risk of burning up should I consider painting the trunk white, like citrus?

Not sure what plant you have. Is there a tag that's more specific? Got a photo?

I love hibiscus plants too. I agree with tomato, that a pic would be great, but if you're worried about the trunk getting scalded you can paint it as you mention, or perhaps get some of the neutral-colored gauze that is sold for protecting trunks of sensitive plants. Then you can slowly remove it in winter when the sun isn't so strong. Good luck and keep us posted! Happy gardening!
