ways to save water on lawn

My neighbors might think I'm crazy, but I'm considering killing all of my tiff grass and only having a rye grass lawn during the winter. In the summer, I'll plant it with tough low water annuals. Does that make sense? I don't know if my HOA would go for that idea.

Not sure that will save you much water. Any annual will need a good amount of water. There roots are just to shallow. If you want to save water mow your tiff higher and water early in the am.
