What's eating my broccoli?

I have a broccoli plant that has holes in all the leaves and there are little black droppings that look like poppyseeds all over and underneath the plant. But I can't find any bugs. Any idea what's eating the plant?

Go out with a flashlight around 8PM. And if you don't find anything eating try again before 5AM. Look well under the leaves. Beetles?

The droppings and holes sounds like grasshoppers to me.

Keep an eye out for those tiny green cabbage moth caterpillars too. They are so hard to see, but their droppings often are easily seen. I good spraying with Bt, the natural bacteria that kills only caterpillars will take care of them.

They could be grasshoppers for sure too. If it's the caterpillars, the Bt will take care of them.
