fruitless olive edible?

My Fruitless Olive that I planted this spring is not doing it's job. It is burdened with small oval olives maybe 3/8" x 1/4". Can I do something with these olives or do I just let the birds have them?

RE: fruitless olive edible?

If it's a fruitless olive, you should not have any olives at all. It may be that the tree you bought was not truly fruitless. I realize this doesn't answer your question about whether or not you can eat them. Olive trees are very messy though. Sorry you didn't get what you ordered.

I have one that was planted 3 years ago, no olives. It's a Swan Hill Fruitless Olive tree.
