Ok, well in October it will be its first birthday; as long as this upcoming week's last round of heat doesn't do him in! But to survive through the worst of the summer is cause enough to celebrate, imo. Yes, he has his share of charred leaves, but underneath those I see several lovely deep green ones still going strong. Sadly, I had another strawberry plant that got completely fried, even though I covered him with shade cloth.

Now, can I expect to get any more strawberries out of the little guy this Fall when things cool down? Or will I need to wait all the way till next Spring? Fortunately, strawberries seem to handle our light frosts pretty well here in AZ. So, if I must wait I will.
