They have a "Chance" and I think a better chance if you cover them with 30% shade cloth instead of a bird netting. Check the PH in the soils where your planting because those varieties tend to adapt to a lower PH than whats in some areas of the valley. Most of the grapes we grow are the types you already have and are on there own rootstocks, so you might want to use another rootstock and graft the variety you want on top.

anyone else wanna chime in? I'm just curious about what other varieties people have grown here successfully besides the usual varieties (and that's not a very big list either.
I now have Thompson Seedless,
Flame Seedless, Ruby Seedless (I'm not at all impressed with these two)
Fantasy Seedless,
Blueberry (grape variety from L. E. Cooke)
So far they've all survived, with the Thompson Seedless and Fantasy Seedles being the most vigurous.

Would be interested in exchanging cuttings or plants if you have anything different (for example I'm interested in trying Black Monuka and Emeral Black) or other varieties.
