I dug out some lawn area that had pearl scale. Just a small area going about a foot from damaged area. Dug enough so that the soil didn't appear to have any "pearls" but I'm sure that I've probably only minimized and haven't gotten rid of it entirely. But my question concerns the soil that I removed:

Is it safe to put that soil in a non-grass area? Another part of my yard is citrus and is on the other side of the house. I'm assuming that they won't affect the

roots of those trees but am unsure.

Better to just dispose?
