Bird Control?

Is there something other than netting (such as sprays) to use to protect fruit from the raiding birds? I am tired of getting my pomegranates drilled by the birds. Tried netting on my figs, it worked but was a pain on some of my larger trees. Will need something for next spring for my apricots also and that is a tree that is getting large.....

Have you tried hanging CDs or something shiny/reflective from your trees to scare away the birds? Scarecrow? Owl figurine?

Can you net individual fruits?

Try some CD with a cat head silhouette on it - they see the motion as being a lurking cat. Just ordinary flashes don't do much.
