My min-max thermometer read 48 degrees this morning, which is plenty cool for me, LOL. Sounds like we're in for one more cool night and then slowly creep back up to average. We had such a nice mild winter last year (my garden only got one light frost, on Dec 26th), I wonder if we're going to heave a bear this year? I sure hope not. Thanks for the early warning. :) Take care all, Grant

Is there anything or plant type to be concerned about at above freezing temps, but below 40F? My low was 38F in my Tempe backyard (40F in warmer parts). Two night or so should be fine, right? I figured no reason to cover if no frost. Tonight might be 2deg cooler. Still above freezing though. I was a bit worried about my pepper plants which have some fruit that still needs to finish, but if they don't freeze they should be fine until the real frosts hit late Dec if a typical winter. Hopefully the soon to be warmer weather will let the peppers finish up.

Had a low of 43 on Thursday and then 45 today (Friday) so the trend is good. Should be 70 today and then back to the 80's by weekend with lows back where they are supposed to be: mid-50's. Bring back the warmth, LOL. Beam, I wouldn't worry too much about your plants as long as its above freezing. Good luck with the peppers--keep us posted. Take care all, Grant

I live in Mesa, my low was 38, but one of my plumeria is dropping all it's leaves! I brought in my adenium and plumies in 3 & 5 gallon containers, but left the 15 gallons out. Also dropped it's inflo just today :( How would I know if there was permanent damage? Thanks! Dale
Plumies/adeniums

Hi Dale and all, It's about time for plumerias and adeniums to start dropping their leaves around the Phoenix metro. I grow several of each and have noticed a couple of leaves starting to turn yellow and fall off. The only real way to know if there is permanent damage is if/when it gets soft from rot or if it gets super hard and dried up from damage. I leave my plumies and adeniums outside all year and they have been fine for years. I don't water them AT ALL when they don't have leaves though. Good luck and keep us posted! Take care, Grant
