They will be OK. Just ignore the holes.

My eggplants were caught in a hailstorm early this summer and it looked like someone had blasted them with a shotgun. But aside from being well-ventilated, the leaves stayed healthy.

Sorry about the hail damage. I've heard from so many friends in the area who had really bad home/garden damage. I agree with Lazy that your plant should be fine. Those Madagascar palms lose their leaves in most winters anyway, so that may happen in the not too distant future, but it will probably be unrelated to the holes.

My last garden got pelted a couple of years ago and most everything survived after some time. The most interesting part (to me anyway) was how my spineless prickly pears got bruised on the hail side and ended up with tan calloused polka dots, LOL. The new pads grew out just fine of course but it was interesting. I still have babies from those plants in my current garden.

There was plenty of M&M candy sized hail at work (Scottsdale and the 101) but none at the house further north in Scottsdale. I was lucky this time.

Anyway, hopefully your and all of our friends plants will recover AOK.

Thanks, guys, for confirming that it should be ok. Yeah, I figured that once the plant goes dormant all will be well...last year it came back in the spring quite nicely with brand new leaves, after going dormant in mid-December.
That's a funny story, Grant, about your polka-dot pricklies!
Anyhow, I guess I shouldn't complain at all because in the scheme of things...well, let's face it, at least I didn't have electric poles falling on my house like some people did. I still can't believe some of the damage that crazy storm did...hope those people are able to recover soon.
