can you use potting soil in the garden?

hi there...does anyone know if it's safe to use potting soil in the garden? i have 2 hibiscus that i need to plant and i accidently purchased potting soil (it has worm castings, peat moss, forest hummus and perlite in it). or should i exchange it for garden soil? i know that this may sound silly but i have no clue (i'm just a beginer). thanks.

All 250+ of my roses were planted in potting soil from 1 to 10 years ago. All are doing very well, no problems that I've seen. Of course they've also been topped over the years with lots of mulch.

Thanks! Ran out of top soil and now feel comfortable in using my unopened large bag of potting soil, outside, instead, amended, as you suggested!
