24 in Camp Verde this morning

We pulled the tomato plants on Sat. then hung them upside down in the garage to continue ripening. We had lots of green and partially ripe ones.
It was a good thing as of this morning at 6:30 it was 24 degrees outside.
The calla lilies are toast (literally) along with the marigolds
Some of the rose buds a limp.
We knew it was going to get cold, just not quite that cold.
So here in Camp Verde, winter has diffidently started and gardening is done for now. That is until Jan. when I need to trim fruit trees, grapes, roses, put down new mulch and get the raised veggie bed ready. Wow I am only going to get a 2mo. break... what!!!!!!!
