Hi all,

A couple of trees (or bushes trained as trees) caught my eye today while browsing around my local box store:

Shower Tree: yellow flowers...looks great! Mine would be be getting full sun...on the NE side of my yard. Can it handle the heat/sun of summer? Can it handle our soil?

Potato Bush: Pretty purple flowers! Same questions as above.

I'm looking for something that will stay medium-small size because my front yard is fairly small. Too bad my dream tree is the gorgeous silk floss...but they get so big, don't they? Maybe I could stick it in my backyard, where it wouldn't overpower the face of the house.

Otherwise, there are tropicals, but since I've got a purple-leaf plum on the other side of the yard, it might not match the cottage theme I've got? Hmmmm...

PS. Still thinking about that Castor plant that someone here posted a while ago. Even though it's poisonous, I've heard you can clip the flowers to avoid having any seeds, which are the worst part. Sadly, haven't seen any Castor plants since several months ago at Bakers.
