For this exposure and size, dwarf citrus, pomegranate or Black Jack dwarf fig and I would shade them on the west side the first summer or two. Not only that, you will have to do a little bit of pruning to keep them in bounds.

Citrus, pomegranate, guava (with frost protection). I wouldn't plant a fig near a house. Agility Mom is right -- stick with a dwarf citrus rootstock like Flying Dragon. I would also suggest that you avoid citrus from Home Depot/Lowes since all that stuff is grafted on lousy citange C35 nowadays, which is probably the worse citrus rootstock for Arizona.

For tree suggestions try the University of Arizona, Maricopa County Cooperative Extension publications. You'll find recommendations for citrus and deciduous fruit (sorry no tropicals).

Deciduous fruit (apples, nuts, figs, peaches, etc.) can be purchased bare root in December/January at reasonable prices. If you plant citrus before March, be prepared to protect them on chilly nights.
