You need to cover your plants in the winter when we get a freeze. They may or may not make it at this point. You can baby them along and wait and see or take them out and wait until late Feb. to plant new Arizona variety tomato plants. Hi, I had the same problem with most of my peppers and tomato's, we covered them to the ground and they still froze back. The one's we had in pots, we moved to the patio; my husband stapled up 4ml plastic all around it and has a light bulb (100 watts) that is on a timer, it comes on around 3 in the morning and goes off around 10am..so far, everything looks great, no loss..the tomato's and peppers are doing wonderful, blossoms and growth. So in the spring, all new tomato's and peppers will go in big pots so they can be moved to protection to winter over..it has not made much difference on the electric bill either (thankfuly)the plastic came from wal-mart and was about $7 a roll, so we needed three to go around the front and side..so not expensive and I can sit on same patio in comfort..it's nice out there right now..lol...
