| I've got this tree in my front yard that I don't particularly like. It always has a hint of brown, it's messy, and I just don't like its appearance. What kind of pine tree is it? And is there anything about the tree that makes it unique or worth saving? |

| It's not a pine; it's an arborvitae. I have one that is very old and it is messy and it is always infected with some pest that turns the foliage brown. Can't remember what it is, but you're sure to find it in this link. You can alleviate the problem by shooting the branches with a jet stream of water, but yours looks awfully close to your house so that might be messy, too. |

| I have to agree with tomatofreak...it looks like an OLD and very trimmed arborvitae...maybe it didn't get enough sun when it was young and made for the "sparseness" in the foliage at the top, with trimming at the bottom...makes it look like it could be some other type of tree.
