Thanks Jay and FN for looking and commenting. Nope, FN, not a virus on this one, just a regular somatic mutation. Lots of viruses DO cause variegation in some plants, which I'm sure you know. Happy gardening all!

So pretty! Just FYI, everyone-- Whittons Greenhouse sent me an email that said they will have Variegata Cristen Aurea on their website soon (not sure I worded its name 100% correctly, but you get the idea).

From extensive and exhaustive searching over the course of many days, I've come to the conclusion that even as of early this year, the price of getting one of these absolutely gorgeous plants was reasonable (under $25), but now it's utterly absurd ($60 minimum and even over $100 in some cases). Of course I didn't even know this one existed until recently, so I missed the boat.

If there is any chance at all you'd be willing to sell or trade even a small cutting of your variegated Madame Butterfly for a price that I could actually afford, I would be so very, very thankful.

btrfiiili, you have regurgitated a post from 2014, Grant has not been on this board since sometime around 2015 or so. Maybe google 'Grant in Arizona' and see if you can find where he's hanging out these days. It ain't here.
