Has anyone tried transplanting a pomegranate tree?

We have a pomegranate tree that is about 15 feet tall, that we would like to relocate. It was here when we purchased the home about 10 years ago, and we feel it is at least 3-4 years older than that. We really do not want to start over from scratch, so .......

Has anyone tried relocating a tree like this? If so, what time of the year did you do it, was it successful, etc. Any tips would be appreciated.

well, we transplanted an aunts from tucson 6 months ago. it was 10 ft tall. now its doing great, covered in pomegranites, 16 ft! i think theres a certain time of the year to plant
