Better than my textilis. Hard to get my bambusa's going full bore as I get my lowest temps when they shoot or right after they shoot. The beechy that you sent me is starting to take off. A very handsome plant. Had some deer
do a mating dance on the malingenis you sent. Still alive but unhappy. Rgds

Here, Textilis shoots just before the cold weather comes, and usually remains almost completely leafless until Spring, but it comes through Winter just fine.

The beechey is a very fast grower here, very tall, very tight clumper, and quick to reach size. Mine does not have the short internodes as described by the ABS. How is the Edulis doing? I cannot figure this plant out. It has remained the same size for three growing seasons. Over a hundred culms all in a very very tight clump. Culm diameter only about 1/4 of an inch thick and seven feet tall average. I have plans to move it to another spot sometime before Spring.

Fred, I had that problem too with my Dendros. They were going full bore in fall & then the subzero temps came and really slowed them down. ;) Good thing is it's too cold for mating dances. Iceplants are doing great. They like looking out at the ice thru the window.
